The last time I saw Adriana was on November 2nd, 2013 at my father's funeral Mass. She gave me a hug, and in her characteristic Portuguese good sense said to me, "It's sad, but the day had to come." I admired her for that. So her day came also, and I wish her a fond farewell until we meet again.
The Estrela family is one of the two Portuguese families in Marysville since l959. We shared much in common, and I treasure that legacy.
Henrique, Gorete, Filomena, and Danny and our family grew up together, although they were a tad younger.
To Mr. Joe Estrela, a great friend of my dad, Manuel Araujo, and to you my friends, please accept my condolences.
The happy memories we shared together will live on, and Adriana would not wish us to be sad. In fact, she would expect a fine feast to celebrate her moving on. She was a superb cook.
