It was with great sadness that I heard just last week of Cindy's death. We have been friends since the 80s, and I so appreciated and admired her as a friend and as a dedicated healthcare professional. We always managed to see each other if she came to Vancouver or if on PEI at the same time, and as Facebook friends, also to communicate through Messenger. I did not even know she was ill. My heart goes out to her loved ones in this time of great loss.
Sending my sincere condolences to her husband Kirk and their daughter Malia Bossio, and Derek and Heather and the rest of the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Cindy for 13 years. This is a photo of our team at our colleagues retirement party in 2018. I am deeply saddened that Cindy is gone at a young age and during a time when she was taking joy in raising her daughter. My thoughts are with Cindy's family and and friends during this difficult time. Cindy, I will miss you!

I started at Interior Health in 2015 and had the pleasure of sharing an office with Cindy for three years. We worked in different portfolios and our jobs were very different but Cindy took me under her wing and introduced me to everyone, invited me to lunch, and made sure I was never lost when it came to the ins and outs of the operations of the building. We became instant friends when we learned we shared a birthday, and then shared a unique bond while awaiting the arrival of our baby girls in January 2017. I am honoured Cindy allowed me to be a part of such a special journey. I'll never forget the text messages we shared when our girls were born. Cindy was an incredible mother, spoke so highly of her friends and family, and could light up a room with her smile and personality. My thoughts are with Cindy's family and friends during this difficult time. She was a wonderful person and I am so grateful to have met her.

I am so deeply sorry to learn of Cindy’s passing. I worked with Cindy for 13 years in Interior Health as a colleague and supervisor. She was such a strong champion for food security throughout the East Kootenays and a powerful advocate to get resources in the region through creative partnerships with various funders. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to spend some time with Cindy in Cranbrook during a work trip and she took me on a driving tour throughout the community and spoke with great pride about the multitude of food security initiatives in different areas of the city. She also provided recommendations on the best places to eat (establishments that feature locally sourced / produced food of course!). I appreciated Cindy’s love for life and her passion for her work in the field of public health. She made many important contributions to her community over her decades-long career. Malia: Cindy LOVED being your mom. You meant the world to her. My sincere sympathy to Kirk, Malia, family and friends.

Sincere sympathy to Cindy’s family. My heart was saddened to read this sad news. Cindy provided much joy to my work experience at the Health Unit in Cranbrook.
Cindy was also kind to our family and influenced Anya to become a Dietitian and Eric attended the Culinary program at Holland College in Charlottetown.
I think of Cindy on her birthday in December and lost touch upon her retirement.

I worked with Cindy for almost 25 years and we always had the best, funny, sincere, & meaningful discussions about work and life. I got to stay with her in Cranbrook once, and we also spent a couple days together in Creston for a work project. There might have been a pub or two involved, there was certainly a lot of laughter. She was such a fabulous Community Nutrition leader for her region that I know she’ll be missed there for her dedication and all the friendships/partnerships/projects she put together. I am heartbroken to hear she is gone so soon - too soon - after fulfilling her dream of being a mom. My very best to Kirk, Malia and all her family, friends, coworkers.
