Marg and family,
Please accept our condolences on Ed’s passing.
He was a real gentleman and a good friend to Marian when she moved in “next door” at Joseph Creek.
They shared a lot of memories of growing up in Cranbrook and going to school together.
They also shared a fondness, on occasion, for a dram of Crown Royal.
I will miss our discussions of hunting and hockey in the winter and his passion for the Blue Jays in the summer.
We will raise a glass of Crown to the man Ed was.
Tight lines and straight shots, Ed.

I have so many great memories that I will always cherish of the time I was fortunate enough to spend with Ed and Marg while I was growing up in Cranbrook. I always looked forward to our fishing trips, with Ed you could pretty much guarantee that you would catch fish! His love and respect for the outdoors was contagious. You had to always be on your toes around Ed, as he was always scheming his next practical joke. I can still hear his hearty laugh that would fill a room, and his sly grin. I was probably only 13 when he had me drive his truck back down the logging road from one of the fishing trips up the Wild Horse, I am still surprised I did not drive drive over the cliff as I could hardly see over the steering wheel, and barely reach the pedals. But Ed was great at pushing people outside their comfort zone, but at the same time making you feel safe, and having your back if things went sideways. I remember (more than once), being with Ed at a restaurant for extended family dinners, Ed would quietly disappear from the table, the next thing you know he is in the kitchen (breaking every restaurant health code), thanking the staff for a great meal, dancing with the servers, chefs. Bringing a huge smile to everyone around him. Thanks for all our time together Ed, you taught me so much about being a better person. I will never forget. Rest In Peace! Lorne Nixon

We were sorry to hear of Ed’s passing Karen and hope you and your family are doing okay during this sad time. While I didn’t know your dad well, I do recall being so very impressed with his strength, his positive attitude and sense of humour especially when visiting him in Foothills hospital after his accident. He seemed more concerned with everyone around him than himself. I know from speaking with my mom and my uncle that he was a well known and respected character in the Cranbrook community, whose reputation was epic and he will be remembered by anyone who knew him. We are thinking of you and wish you and your family peace as you honour your Dad in your memories, love from Mike and Sharon Huculak

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your husband Ed and the father of Shane, Karen and Eddy. It has been many years since I’ve seen any of you but my heart goes out to you all. My sympathies to all of you. Ed was always a big kid and prankster that’s what I always will remember. May he rest now in peace. Ingrid and Marvin Williams
