Richard Joe Wheeler born May 6, 1952 passed away peacefully in Kimberley, B.C., on February 23, 2021 with his loving family at his side.
Rick was born in Beaverlodge, Alberta to Nora & Nelson Wheeler and was a second son for them. He grew up in Chetwynd, B.C., & did all of his schooling there. In his early years Rick developed a great love for music and in his teen years persued his passion to play drums. He was a member of a couple bands in Chetwynd and enjoyed his music to the fullest. After graduation Rick moved to Prince George, B.C., to attend College of New Caledonia to become a Forestry Technician. After completing his Forestry diploma, he married his childhood sweetheart Marilyn Gail Parker, on September 1, 1973 in Prince George, B.C.
Rick's first forestry position was with Jacobson Bros Forest Products in Williams Lake, followed by Riverside Forest Products & Tolko Forest products. While in Williams Lake Rick took up Log House building, as well
as forestry work. They started their family in Williams Lake with the birth of their first son Ryan, followed by Rob, Tyson & Brody.
Rick is survived by his wife Marilyn of 47 years, son Ryan (Soey) & grandson Patrick, son Rob (Kristin), granddaughters Finley & Heidi, son Tyson (Laura), grandsons Paxton & Linden, son Brody (Jodie), grandson Lucas, his brother David & wife Sandra from Lethbridge and their families.
To be closer to family Rick & Marilyn moved to Kimberley in 2007 and have resided there until he was taken home on February 23, 2021.
