Obituary of Ruth Helen Walkey

August 22, 1932 – March 24, 2021

 

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Walkey announce her passing on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Kimberley Care Home at the age of 88. It brings great sadness that Covid has kept her family from her side.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband of almost 68 years, Dale, her daughter Linda, grandchildren Chad and Nikki and sisters, Coral and Becky. Ruth is survived by her children Bruce (Pat), Audrey (Dennis), Leona (Toni), Noella (Danny), Jeannie, son in law Gerry, her sister Liz and brother George. Her family was the center of her world and her 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

Ruth and her husband Dale were longtime residents on the Skookumchuck prairie. Ruth moved to the Kimberley Care Home three years ago and made many friends there. Her gentle spirit will be missed by all.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and Dr. Lunge at the Pines for the care and love given during her stay there.

A private graveside service will be held for immediate family following Covid restrictions.
