Dear Myrna, Chris, Sean and families,
I was so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. It was my privilege and pleasure to be a colleague for 13 years with SD#3. He was an outstanding principal who was known for treating everyone with respect, care, and fairness. I am sure former students will always remember his emphasis on "tone". If I ever visited him during the noon hour, I understood that we would have to chat while he roamed the hallways.
As a parent I appreciated the genuine interest he showed in each of my five children who attended Selkirk during his tenure. I know how much his own family meant to him and how proud he was that his sons became educators.
Sincere condolences. You are in my thoughts as you deal with your loss.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of a warm and wonderful man. We got to know Pat through Chris and Sean as college roommates and many far too generous meals in Kimberley and Vancouver. Pat always had time for people and genuinely wanted to know how everything was for you. I most recall his skills on the grill, his love of golf and his keen interest in what everyone was doing.
He will be missed!

Pat and I both came to McKim School in 1975. He was my first principal and did I ever luck out. Pat's calmness and sense of humour made both students and staff feel as they were part of a big family. He was always supportive professionally and personally and he gave me guidance in my life for which I will always be appreciative.
Pat was a quality person and his persona will be not only missed by his family but by everyone who ever had the opportunity to meet him.
Cheers Pat.
Wayne Pelter.

Our condolances to Myrna and the family. Pat will surely be missed by all and the neighborhood. He was always ready for a chat. One time Pat gave me a seed to plant. My first experience with squash. Well this thing took over my entire garden and part of the lawn. I asked if he was mad at me and this was his revenge. He just laughed. Pat always had the best garden and grew great potatoes. I was honored when he brought me a box of his 'little candies' as I called them. Will surely miss you and the wave at the corner. Rest in peace my friend.
