Obituary of John Gordon MacIntyre
1925 - 2010
It is with deep sorrow that the family of John Gordon "Bud" MacIntyre announces his passing on December 17, 2010 in Cranbrook, British Columbia.
Bud was born on October 11, 1925 in Anyox, British Columbia. Bud enlisted in the Canadian-Scottish Regiment in WWII from 1944 until 1946. After the war he went to work for BC Tel where he was employed for 36 years. Bud was an avid fisherman and very much an outdoorsman.
Bud is survived by his son Dr. Gerry (Linda) MacIntyre; daughter Wendy Pompey of Everett, Washington; his grandchildren Quincy Pompey, Allyson (Jason) Tozer, Eryn (Cam) Geddes, Jon MacIntyre (Diane Haley); 3 great grandchildren; his brother Ron (Kay) MacIntyre; 2 nephews Tom (Jeannie) MacIntyre and Lindsay (Char) MacIntyre as well as numerous cousins throughout Haida Gwaii and Vancouver Island. Bud was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 2007; his parents and his sister Florence Iverson.
A Celebration of Bud's Life will be held in the McPherson Funeral Home Reception Room in Cranbrook on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Bud may do so the charity of their choice.
