Dear Rose and family,
We were sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. We have fond memories of you and your wonderful adventures. We were so thrilled to be able to do a house exchange to Germany because you and Fred ‘shared’ an exchange possibility with us. Fred was always so friendly, kind and interested in everything. Our heartfelt condolences.......Judy Ridgway and Victor Epp

TRIBUTE TO FRED STEVENS
We knew Fred for about 27 years and we got together most often socially to celebrate somebodies birthday, anniversary, or other such function. He generally had a quick mind and witty sense of humour and an uncanny ability to come up with the word that everyone was looking for.
He was always most competitive when we played some board game or recreational sport like curling, golf, fishing, or croquette. I remember Fred for his avid participation in life, for whatever he did he gave his all. He was a kind and generous host of countless social gatherings and dinner parties, spurred on by his lovely wife and life companion, Rose.
We have fond memories of being with them at the beach for picnics and water skiing off their boat. Fred was especially fond of getting rid of those riding the tube. He was always up for camping, summer theatre, and many other get-togethers. Sometimes we would travel to another city for cultural and recreational events. When it came to travelling, there was none other that we know that have done more world travelling than Fred and Rose. They took risks and brought back great stories. The time they had together and the places they went were the envy of us all. As it turns out, they were very wise to have done it while they could, a lesson to be learned for those left behind.
I remember Fred as being the Patriarch of our social group, him being the oldest and wisest. The last 2-3 years, however, due to illness Fred went downhill quickly. Fred left us with decades of fond and fun memories, and we will always miss the " Leader of the Pack ". Condolences to Rose, and the Family.

Our condolences go out to the entire family.
We worked with Fred at Parkland School for many years of our teaching careers.
We also would share travel stories and get ideas from the trips that he and Rose did.
We also knew his children as they went through Parkland School.
Fred was a great supporter of the Arts as well as all the sports events he was involved with.
He and Rose would always attend the plays that I directed or the band concerts that Patricia did and always had praise for our efforts. Our thoughts are with all of you at this time...David and Patricia Stock
