To Ted with love and friendship. We just found out that Ted passed away in December and we were shocked. I worked with Ted in the north for a number of years and always considered him a true friend. He will be truly and utterly missed. He was a very fine man with many and varied interests. We drove the Alaska Highway a number of times when we worked together. I was always amazed how well he new the country and the people. We fly fished in total darkness (he taught me how) in the rivers and lakes, we bird hunted together in Alberta (around Hythe and in the Peace river countryside) and went hunting up the Stikine River and had to come out urgently because the river froze over. Unfortunately he lost his cherished 22 rifle on that trip. He was always calm and a good sport. I remember him having to drive around the block in an attempt to entice his dog Rupert into his car. We will miss him and remember him always. I was fortunate to have known him. Love to Gretchen and Joel and all his family, Dick and Kay Butler.

We are so sorry for your loss. We were senior curlers with Ted for many years. The club is a very social environment so we had many visits with Ted, at games and socials. After he stopped curling, we would meet up with him at the Snowdrift for lunch. He was the club photographer. Every social, bonspiel and awards nights he was always there to record the event. We want to extend our sympathies to Ted's children and families, on his passing. We first met Ted when he worked at MCFD here in Williams Lake. He was always a pleasant man, happy and busy. He would often return to work, after weekends out exploring our vast Cariboo/Chilcotin area, and relay his appreciation of his trips with enthusiasm. He shared stories of his children, whom he was so proud of. We did have a few "after hours" get togethers which were always fun and entertaining. We still have some of Ted's great photography on our walls, which we view daily. Deepest condolences. Bill & Marie Grisdale

Joel and Gretchen, we were so very sad to hear of Ted’s passing. We had a long telephone conversation with him just a few weeks ago when we were passing through the area. It was great to hear his voice and to reconnect. We worked with Ted many years ago in Williams Lake and became good friends. Once we moved to Victoria we would visit when he came to town to see his parents, or when we went on road trips to the Kootenays. Ted even took our wedding photos more than 25 years ago, and we still have a photo of the Chilcotin he gave us for a wedding gift hanging in our house along with others he took over the years. He was an amazing photographer and a great friend. Ted was also one of the most curious and vibrant people I have ever met. He was never idle and he gave so much of his time and energy to others. He truly made the world a better place and lived life. He loved you two so very much and was so proud of you both. He will be missed. Warmly, Michael and Shyrl Kennedy

I really missed Ted when he retired as a social worker.. Wonderful memories as he was intelligent, compassionate, talented & so much fun to work with. Everyday he he would share his Far Side daily calendar cartoons with me. For years he would send me a Christmas card with one of his beautiful pictures he photographed. I have saved them all. Yes, his fancy cars, as he received two speeding tickets in one week commuting to work from Kimberley. He gave me a stone with a fish painted on it when he retired. Another momento of how fortunate I was to work with Ted. Deepest sympathy to his family.

My husband and I used to car rally and ice race with Ted in the early '70's in Ft. St. John. Then, after he moved to Kimberley, we were so surprised to meet up with him again! He loved to talk about cars, and the people we remembered in the rally club in F.S.J. I chatted with Ted every week at the swimming pool, and what did we often talk about as we walked out to the parking lot together: the turbo engine in my car! When the pool re-opens, I will really miss Ted and all those interesting chats we had.

Ted was an active and respected volunteer Board Member for almost 10 years, retiring in June 2020. His participation on committees and his insight to board discussions were valued and he will be missed.

I will miss Ted! For many years we curled together, often bonspielling, or sharing stories or beers in the clubhouse lounge. Ted was an avid cross country skier and delighted in showing me his latest waxless skiis it seems like just a few years back Our paths crossed many times over many years; Ted always had a smile and a story to share. Go in peace Ted!

The best neighbor ever! All the neighbors on Mark street will miss you Ted. When the neighbors gathered around your hot rod rally car last spring to witness you starting it up after a long winter hibernation, everyone was witness to a priceless - if not loud- moment.
