Dear Sherri and family, I was surprised to learn that Dan had ALS and very sad to hear of his passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I worked with Dan for several years when I was superintendent of schools in Kimberley. He was a knowledgeable, skilled, dedicated, and hard-working member of our staff. His positive attitude and pleasant demeanour made him a joy to work with I remember him fondly. I am so sorry for your loss. Bob Johnstone

Dan Havens, a beautiful soul. Dan was ready to join in on any kind of fun, sports event, wine or moonshine making, birthday cakes for others, and so much more. I’m not sure anybody could excel at so many things at the same time as Dan could. He was exceedingly competent at everything he did. But most of all, most importantly, he was just a really fine person. It must’ve been fate that he landed at St. Mary’s school many years ago. Thank you for everything, Dan. We will always think of you with love. We will continue to park crooked so you have something to complain about as well. - Staff at St.Mary’s Catholic School
