Obituary of Houat Sikhoummung
Please share a memory of Houat to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Houat Sikhoummung passed on June 22, 2020. He was beloved by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, relatives, and friends. A traditional amiable man with the zest for life.
At a young age his first passion was badminton. For two decades he lived his dream as a professional badminton athlete with the Shanghai City League. He played badminton well into his golden years defeating players half his age, until cancer diminished his mobility.
His second passion was food and travel. From Asia to North America, to Europe and to Australia, he sampled all the local food and cuisine. Along the way, his bottomless appetite could bankrupt an all you can eat restaurant.
Beyond his passions, he was a devoted husband for over 50 years and was a supportive father in all his son’s endeavours. He worked tirelessly to support his family without complaint and did not hesitate to give generously to his loved ones.
Houat “Lai” Sikoummung, you will be missed by all on earth and the universe has gained a shining star.
