Shortly after moving to Invermere, BC, I'm walking around our quiet neighbourhood with my little dog .. he sees someone and moments later I'm chatting with a very nice neighbour .. where are you from, I ask, Scarborough, he responds - hmm, me too - where did you go to school, Wexford, he says, hmm, me too - we look at one another and I find out I'm chatting with Jay Stieger a guy I went to school with, I mean we were in the same classes - we didn't recognize one another, you know how it goes, the older a guy gets the more 'ruggedly handsome' he becomes, that applied to Jay.. I'll miss having the opportunity to talk about anything and everything with Jay, such a wise man, always smiling, if you couldn't get along with Jay then YOU were the one with the problem .. his range of interests were vast, from his Classic Mustang to his collection of baseball caps to a review of all the places in the world he visited to his grandkids, like I said, a man who was friendly, knowledgeable and very kind.
My wife and I thought the world of him, he passed away much too early, he will be missed!
