Obituary of Gerald James Fisher

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald James Fisher. After a long struggle with diabetes and kidney failure, he peacefully passed on January 3rd, 2020 in the Vancouver General Hospital.
Gerald was born on December 8, 1950 in Kimberley, B.C., and continued to live out the remainder of his life there. After graduation, Gerald was employed by Cominco Mines until his retirement. As a young adult, Gerald loved travelling, camping and fishing. In his later years, he enjoyed going to coffee with his friends and visiting with family. Gerald was an avid supporter and fan of the Kimberley Dynamiters never missing a game.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Margaret Fisher and brother-in-law, Gary Gates. He leaves behind his sister Norma Gates (Gord); niece Tracy Gates (Stewart); nephew Bryan (Ines) Gates; great nephews Jesse and Deklen; great nieces Kylie (Amos), Megan and Morgan; great-great nephews Zaiden and Xander; cousins Walter (Anne) Vodradsky, Fran (Dan) Franklin, Barb (Allan) Streich, Sandra (Greg) Heyes and their respective families. We will miss him very much.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kimberley Elks Hall on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetic Society, Kidney Foundation or the CNIB.
