Tyler John Hayes Date of Birth: October 12, 1993 Date of Passing: January 11, 2020 Place of Birth: Cranbrook, B.C. Tyler John Hayes, 26, passed away unexpectantly on January 11, 2020. Tyler was born and raised in Cranbrook and never had any desire to leave the area. He was truly going to spend the rest of his life living the kootenay dream. He and Taylor were to be married in July and they intended to buy property out at Moyie, once he moved to full time status at Fording River Coal. He really enjoyed driving truck up on the mountain. Tyler loved snowmobiling, hunting, camping, waterskiing, wake skating and hanging out with friends and family around a campfire. Tyler played house hockey and rep hockey while growing up and loved the comradery and physicality of the game. He never backed down from a fight. Tyler was a member of the 2007 Friendship hockey team that traveled to New Zealand and always considered his host family the Orrs actual family. Tyler will be forever missed by his family and his huge circle of multi-generational friends. Tyler was known as a kind, caring compassionate man. Tyler is survived by: Grandparents John and Dolores Smith, Parents John and Bonnie Hayes, Brother Justin Hayes, Fiancée Taylor Lauritsen, Uncle Kevin Smith, Cousins David and Jenevieve, the Orrs, His snowmobiling family and “The Boys” Tyler was predeceased by Grandparents John and Edna Hayes Memorial Services to be held at McPherson Funeral Services in Cranbrook, B.C. on Saturday January 18, 2020 at 11:00am with reception to follow.
