Julie Ann Kneller (Miles)
September 9, 1957 – December 6, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julie, our devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, in her loving home in Wasa on December 6, 2019 at the age of 62.
Born to Ken and Sophia Miles, Julie graced this world on September 9, 1957 in Kimberley, B.C. Along next would come her precious siblings, Kathy, David and Rodney. They were raised on the Ranch in Wycliffe, then moved to TaTa Creek. From there they would set their roots in the small community of Wasa.
Julie later set out to the adventurous world, only to find the love of her life, Stan, at the young age of 16.
Julie and Stan married on October 12, 1974. They welcomed their first daughter, Tanya Ann, on January 14, 1975. Although she was a handful, it didn’t stop them from having their second daughter, Cynthia Marie, on December 8, 1976. The apple of their eye, Duane Roy Kenneth, was born on April 7, 1979.
Julie was a fun, creative mother. She would make costumes for her children to participate in the local Wasa Fun Day Parade, as well as dressing Stan and herself up too. Her best friend Irene and her would make scavenger hunt lists to keep the kids busy for hours. Don’t think the kids ever found a squirrel’s tail.
As a proud mother, she stood up tall at all her children’s weddings. Tanya to Greg, Duane to Marianne, then Cyndee to Wayne. She was glowing.
Julie’s heart has always been with her children, but nothing had brought her greater joy as to when she became a grandmother. Colton Green (Chassadee Bailey), Kylie & Katelyn Sage, Cheyanne & Lukis Kneller, and even though Gaetan Boue is her nephew, he was treated like a grandbaby also. These children were her reason for living. Julie lost her mother in November of 2010 whom all could attest, was an amazing role model on how to be a grandma.
Julie loved her music, typically dancing around to some great classic rock tunes. She was accomplished at playing guitar, piano, and even the accordion, which many would not know.
Julie’s past times included bowling, riding her bike around the lake, and simply enjoying coffee and conversation with all who knew her. She was a baseball enthusiast and you could find her in the bleachers offering to take score or just cheering on the teams. If she wasn’t out and about, she would be at home simply enjoying the company of her precious fur babies and burning a lovely dinner for her husband.
Julie was an active member of the Wasa Lions Club. She was the first woman to join the Wasa Lions and later would be the first woman to become the President. She had an undeniable dedication and love for her community.
Julie had the ability to find the good in everyone. She leaves behind a legacy of courage and strength.
“A positive attitude will let me live another day. Never give up. There is always hope.” Love Julie
