Obituary of Karen Marlene Lowes

Please share a memory of Karen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness, we announce that on Thursday, November 28, 2019 Karen Marlene Lowes beautiful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away suddenly at the age of 53 years. Karen fought with such a brave and courageous spirit and positiveness but due to unforeseen complications, succumbed to her brief illness of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Karen was born on July 15, 1966 and raised in Coleman, Alberta. At 20 years old Karen studied to become a rehabilitation practitioner, which she pursued a career at various hospitals in Alberta & British Columbia. She met her husband Doug in Lethbridge, Alberta where they subsequently lived in Calgary before moving to Cranbrook, B.C. and raised two sons, Liam and Quinn, the apple of Karen’s eyes.

Karen had many passions and hobbies – gardening, painting, traveling, Scuba diving in tropical waters and listening to good music. She had a zest for life, a smile that would light up a room and a vibrant, beautiful personality.

Karen will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend of 24 years, Doug,  their two sons, Liam and Quinn, her brothers and sisters Wendy, Wayne (Leona), Monica (Clay) Richard (Kazuyo) and also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Marline, and her brother Timothy.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Karen’s honour to the E.K foundation for Health www.ekfh.ca/method/general-donation/
