Gladys was my second mother. At times she scared me ___-less. But whether she wanted to admit it or not, you knew she loved you. She made the BEST chicken soup in the world. Nothing but broth and shell pasta noodles, she would simmer and skim that pot all day. Joan and I could barely wait! She was always up early, ready with Walters lunch and coffee for the day. I feel incredibly grateful that she was such a Huge part of my life and that this spring I got to visit with her and Walter. Somehow I knew that I would probably never see her again on this earth, but there's always heaven. See you then Gladys. Thanks for being such a strong vibrant, outspoken, wonderful woman in my life.

I have fond memories of visits with Gladys in their home as well as in the store. What a wonderful lady. May your special memories bring you all comfort at this time.

My greatest memories of my Grandmother were the christmas's we spent at her house. The whole family would get together on these occassions and shrae the holidays together. I loved her big tree she would have all decorated and all the snow that was there.(we never got much snow in Nanaimo)
Grandma had a life force like no other. She said what was on her mind all the time with out questioning what was going to be said. However with that came a presence that couldn't be beat, her inner light was huge and glorious and I am blessed to have had her as a grandmother. May her angel be watching out for all of us and may god Keep her soul close to his heart.
