Obituary of Hans Rupert Haugen

With great sadness the family of Hans Rupert Haugen announces his passing on November 6, 2019.
Hans was born to Ruby and Herman Haugen on May 26th, 1937 in the Coxby district of Saskatchewan; he was one of 16 children.
Hans married his beloved wife Monica on June 1st 1963 and had five children, sadly their first son passing days after birth.
Hans and Monica moved to Wardner, B.C.in 1971 and then to Jaffray in 1975. Hans loved watching hockey, his favorite team being the Detroit Red Wings, he also was a hockey coach in the Fernie Pee Wee League. Hans enjoyed strumming on his guitar, working with his horses, loved to make things, such as carving toy cars. He also had quite the collection of hot wheels that he proudly displayed, and if you didn't know it; Dodge was the only make of vechicle he ever owned.
Hans is survived by his children Hans (Sharon) Haugen of Cranbrook, B.C, Christine Stanvick of Cranbrook, B.C., Denise (Lorne) Hutchinson of Fernie, B.C. and Rolf (Lorilee) Haugen of Lethbridge, A.B, brothers Chris, Harold, Garth, Wendell, Herman, Gordon and sisters Shirley, Sandra, Verna, Mary and Pauline, nine wonderful grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew, Hans, Mystis, Shandele, Coralee, Ryker, Alexius, Dawson, Cody & Seth, seven great grandchildren Rory, Hayden, Laela, Marissa, William, Finn and Mazeik.
Hans was predeceased by his loving wife Monica, his son Eric, his parents Ruby and Herman Haugen, sisters Edna, Lila and Vivian, Flora, Faye and Colleen.
A celeberation of life will be held Saturday November 23, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Wardner Community Hall.
