Obituary of Shirley Diane Elkin

1950 - 2018

Shirley passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook. She was 67 years of age.

“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather you shining through openings in the angel’s wings, you are the sparkle in the sky so I know you are finally happy and in peace.”

Shirley was a very quiet and private person. She loved collecting angels and believed strongly in their presence, she loved birds, dolphins and nature. She loved making beautiful crochet items, needle point and crafts to occupy her time. She had few friends she kept close at heart, those who understood her and loved her company. She will be missed by those special friends and her family.

She is survived by her daughters Monica (Jeff) Brown, Maryann Fraser, her grandchildren Aaron, Mikkayla, Dalton, Calleigh and Connor, her brother Terry (Irene) Tarnowski of Terrace, B.C.

Shirley is predeceased by her parents, her daughter Rose , great grandson Bohdi Rhett, and many family members.

A small gathering of her family will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association in her honor.
