Albert Alaric

Obituary of Albert Peter Alaric

Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

March 11, 1951 - March 20, 2010

Peter was born in Merritt, British Columbia, the youngest of 15 children. He was the proud son of Walter and Margaret and grew up to be a simple, honest, hard working man.

Peter lived in Vancouver for many years and was noticeably conscientious about any job he took on. He loved, loved, loved his family. He always had his hand out to those in need and his trust in people never flagged.

Peter suffered a head injury, and with the aid of many family members and excellent care on the coast, he fought his way back to semi-independence. He was a long term resident in Rocky Mountain Lodge and the Green Home. He was the baby of the family there too and many of the residents and staff were fiercely protective of him. A self-proclaimed double saint, he was very social and well know by all. He was passionate about playing crib and never missed a point. On Bingo day, his focus was so keen, he won more often than not and was the envy of many. Peter never forgot a birthday of his large family and told stories from the past like they were recently plucked from time.

Peter is survived by his siblings Bill (Joyce) Alaric, Virginia (Bernie) MacInnis, Peggy (Maurice) Tessier, Lee (Sharon) Alaric, Les (Susan) Alaric, Dorothy (Ted) Walls; very special sister-in-law Lynn Alaric; niece Lu (Ross) Stanfield and very many nieces and nephews as well as great and great greats.

Peter will be cremated and join his parents in Oliver, British Columbia. There will be no service. There will be a small family gathering to celebrate his life.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
