"Absent from the body, present with the Lord"

With sad hearts we announce the sudden passing of Hilda Trotter on February 13, 2010 in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

Hilda was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan and had many fond memories of growing up and living a life centered around her family and her church. She went to Prairie Bible Institute for 2 years and then worked in Calgary and Toronto in various jobs. Later Hilda moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia where she met her husband Newell. Two children soon followed. They operated a service station and small store and also a dump truck business. Later they operated a highway trucking business. Hilda's interests included reading, painting, baking, going for walks and going to church. Her kind and gentle spirit will always be remembered by her family and friends. Hilda was a true lady and always made sure her guests never left her home hungry or before having a good cup of tea. We will miss her smile that warmed our hearts.

"For God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten son, whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16

Hilda is survived by her son Dale (Jo-Anne); daughter Diane; sisters: Tillie (Grant) Robinson of Abbottsford, Elvina (Tom) Brown of Sun CIty, Arizona; 1 brother George (Anne) Gertzen of Revelstoke; numerous nephews and nieces in Canada and the United States of America. She was predeceased by her husband Newell in 2006, Hilda's parents and 3 brothers and her sister-in-laws.

At Hilda's request there will be no funeral service. A family graveside service has taken place.
