To the Diotte boys, I am so saddened to hear of Joe’s passing. He was such a good man and important influence during my teens. He’ll always hold a piece of my heart, I know he’s in heaven now. Psalms 65:2. Love to you all, Joleen.

Dear Joe, Aaron and Matt,
I am so sorry to learn about the loss of your father. Joe was a champion with heart as big as a union hall.
Working at KFP, I remember Joe as a fearless advocate for worker's rights, especially the right to have a safe workplace. When Joe took on an issue, management paid attention and things were put right.
More than anything Joe leaves me with the ever present twinkle in his eyes. That twinkle was infectious and it let folks know how much he enjoyed being alive. The twinkle in Joe's eyes, was like an irresistible invitation to enjoy the adventure.
Debby and I are sorry that we did not learn about your father's passing until today. Please know that our sympathies and our thoughts are with you. May these words by L. Cohen help bring some comfort:
"So come, my friends, be not afraid
We are so lightly here.
It is in love that we are made;
in love we disappear."
We will miss Joe - but your father will always be in our memories - in solidarity, for ever.

Diotte Family, I am deeply saddened to read just now of Joe's passing; I knew him from the time your family moved to Nelson, first at St. Joe's, later to drink the odd brew and at K.F.P. I really liked Joe, he was a warm, funny and genuine man and I considered him a friend as I did your uncle Pat. I offer my most heartfelt condolences and I hope that Joe is looking down on us, sipping a brew and laughing in his gravelly voice. God Bless and Keep all of you, Dewey Riesterer......uncle of Ben and David Cherry.

Joe, Aaron & Matt;
I am saddened to hear of your loss. Your dad was a great guy. I remember going over to your place when I was a kid, and your dad was always there to say hello with a smile. Our hearts go out to you and yours during this time. Chad Rushka & Family.

Joe, Aaron and Matt;
It's been a long time guys, I'm not sure you will remember me but I remember Joey dudes. I remember when we came back to Nelson from a union function in Cranbrook, coming out of Creston in the night there was a deer on the highway - Joey took out his rifle and shot it. I remember when he cut off the end of his thumb? at Westwood, sent him to the hospital - looked all through the dust bin - never found that digit. I remember Joey - I remember Eileen too. We had good days. All my best men.
