Obituary of Lawrence Laurent Savarie

1926 - 2010

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Lawrence Savarie announces his passing in Cranbrook, British Columbia on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 83 years of age.

Lawrence was born March 20, 1926 in Cranbrook, and lived there his entire life. He worked in the logging industry from age 14 to retirement. He loved the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, fishing, reading and a good practical joke. He took great pleasure from the simple things in life and loved to reminisce telling humourous stories of his childhood. Lawrence was a "jack of all trades" and enjoyed tinkering. There was nothing he couldn't build or fix.

Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Loretta; his children: Colette Savarie of Mission, British Columbia, Bernie Savarie of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Cynthia (Frank) Ridler of Terrace, British Columbia, Peter (Sandy) Savarie of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Maureen (Doug) Pascuzzo of Westbank, British Columbia, Tim (Donna) Savarie of Cranbrook, British Columbia; 11 grandchildren: Matthew, Tracy, Stephanie, Tara, Meagan, Nick, Randall, Sarah, Leah, Sam and Ryan; 3 great grandchildren: MaKenna, Gabe and Brooklyn; 1 brother: Roger Savarie of Cranbrook, British Columbia; 1 sister: Pauline Laprise of Victoria, British Columbia plus numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Bertha and Cyprien Savarie and 2 brothers Fernand and Louis Savarie.

A funeral service for Lawrence was held on Wednesday, Jaunary 20, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Christ The Servant Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Lawrence may do so to their charity of choice or plant a tree in his honour.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dave Lenz, Dr. Andy, the hospital nurses and staff.
