Obituary of Henrietta Dina Marie Andersen

Please share a memory of Henrietta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

1954 - 2010

The family of Henrietta Andersen sadly announces her untimely passing following a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, January 11, 2010 at just 55 years of age.

Hen was born on July 29, 1954 in Nuuk, Greenland. The two most important things in Hen's life were family and friendship. Hen always had a smile and a hug for people and she would go out of her way to lend a hand. Many people will remember her as one of the best bartenders in Kimberley. She later went to BCIT and became a barber. She had a long list of clients and she even made house calls. Sadly….all of you clients will now have to find yourselves a new barber. Hen had a big beautiful smile and she would use it often, so let's all work up a big smile now for Hen because she deserves it! You were an amazing person Henrietta and we are going to miss you dearly and we will love you forever!

Hen is survived by her mother and father Sofie and Jorgen Andersen of Kimberley; brothers: Otto (Dana) of Nuuk, Greenland, Ivan (Sue) of Port Coquitlam and Torben (Colleen) of Kimberley; nieces and nephews: Aviaja and Ivik, Cody, Dayna, Rylee and Adam; cousins Kathrine, Oline, Otto of Greenland as well as all her family abroad in Greenland and Denmark. Hen was predeceased by her brother Art Andersen and her partner Earl Evans.

A memorial service for Henrietta will be held at the Kimberley Pentecostal Church (The Old Meadowbrook School) on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow in the church hall. A celebration of Hen's life will take place at the Elks Hall in Kimberley at 7:30 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2010. All of Hen's friends are invited to attend. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Henrietta Andersen may do so to the: East Kootenay Regional Hospital, Oncology Department, 13 - 24th Avenue North, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 3H9.
