Obituary of Louis Dragovan

June 18, 1942 - October 23, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Louie peacefully passed away at home into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, October 23, 2010 with his loving family at his side.

Louie was born on June 18, 1942 in Lokvica, Slovenia and came to Canada in 1961. He met and eventually married Rose Fir in 1966. They resided in Cranbrook where they raised their three lovely children.

He is survived by his loving wife Rose; daughter Mary-Ann (Bruce) and grandchildren Amanda, Brittany, Will and their father Richard Kirkvold; daughter Sonja MacGregor (Joe) and grandson Michael; son Joe (Kathy) and grandchildren Mason, Michaela and Matthew, as well as his brothers & sisters, Franc, Anica, Milena, Tone, Marija and Ivanka, and many other family members in Germany and Slovenia.

He was predeceased by his parents Franc and Anica, and his brothers Stan and Ivan.

Prayers for Louie will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Louie may do so to the: Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9.
