Obituary of Robert Ronald Sr Rae

1931 - 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Ronald Rae Sr. announces his passing on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the age of 78 years.

Bob was a man of many talents. He had a love for the accordion and in his younger years was an avid player. He was a teacher of many, except his daughters who seemed to struggle with the whole concept. Bob was well known for his sense of humour and for always having a new joke to share. Before settling in Cranbrook with his family, Bob was a journeyman pipe fitter at the ship yards in Vancouver. He later ventured into his own security business and in his later years enjoyed driving the shuttle bus and delivering cars for Northstar Motors.

He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 31 years June Rae, his children Roxane (Wade) Boardman, Sharel (Lorne) Verigin, Kory (Stefan) Rae, Robert (Irene) Rae, Stacy (Jen) Nazaroff, Michealle Biddlecome and Lloyd Rae. Also left to mourn his passing are his cherished grandchildren: Megan, Cody and Curtis, Whitney and Brianna, Alexiss and Haylie, Jessica, Spencer, Rebecca, Sara, Melissa, Kayla and his 5 great grandchildren.

 

A funeral service for Robert will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Kootenay Christian Fellowship in Cranbrook at 3:30 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Robert may do so to the: Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 12013 Stn BRM B, Toronto, Ontario, M7Y 2L3 or the: Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, Cranbrook Unit, #101, 105 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2M1 in lieu of flowers.
