Florence Dorothy Oliynyk passed away peacefully at Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbook, British Columbia on Monday, November 30th, 2009.

Florence was born on May 23, 1922 in Ashern, Manitoba. She was the daughter of Richard and Hulda Humphreys.

Florence is survived by her son and his wife, Roland and Marilyn Oliynyk of Kelowna, British Columbia; grandchildren: Aaron Oliynyk (Debbie), Allison MacMillan, Todd Oliynyk (Lynn) and Michael McMillan (Deyona); six great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Florence was predeceased by her husband, Theodor (Ted); her daughter, Linda (Lee Adamer); her parents, and siblings, Ena Hall, May Webster, Richard Humphreys, Kay Masters, Irene Corbin, and Evelyn Williams.

Florence married Ted Oliynyk on May 2, 1941 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In September of 1943, she joined the Women's Division of the R.C.A.F. and was discharged in January 1945. When Ted came back from overseas in 1945, they moved to Kimberley, where Ted worked for Cominco until his retirement in 1977.

After Ted's death in 1993, Flo remained in their home on Crerar Street until 2007 and then moved to Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook. Flo was a member of the Kimberley Hospital Auxiliary from 1969 to 2006.

There will be no service at her request.

A celebration of her life will take place in Kelowna, British Columbia at a future date. Interment will be next to her husband in the Kimberley Cemetery.
