Obituary of Joan Sherret

1938 - 2009

Joan Sherret passed away peacefully at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 5, 2009.

Joan was born in Vernon, British Columbia on February 9, 1938. She was very active with the United Church. She was a Pythian Sister. She volunteered at the cellar and she enjoyed contributing to her community. Joan's greatest pleasure was her was her husband Jim, her children, her precious grandson Alex and her many many friends. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Jim, her children Barbie, Greg (Diane), Jeannie (Jim) and grandson Alex; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one brother Murray Pierce (Loretta) from Alberta.

She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Doreen and Charlie Johnson.

A memorial service for Joan will take place at the Cranbrook United Church on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Joan may do so to the: Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9 or the charity of your choosing.
