Obituary of James Deeney
1941 - 2008
It is with extreme sorrow that the family of Jim Deeney announce his passing on December 20, 2008 in Kimberley, British Columbia.
Jim was born in Greenock, Scotland on November 5, 1941. He worked at Teck Cominco from 1965 - 2002. His career saw him at the Iron Steel Plant, Fertilizer Plant, Sullivan Mine and finally the Carpenter Shop. Jim's talent as a Bricklayer is on display throughout town and in many homes. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and laughed with him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Janet, children, Fiona and Theo, Jill and Rob, and Papa to 4 amazing grandchildren: Antonia, Georgia, Duncan and Davina.
A memorial service for Jim will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Kimberley on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honour of Jim can be made to the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Building Fund, c/o 97 Boundary Street, Kimberley, British Columbia, V1A 2H4 (this gift will be earmarked for the sanctuary lighting fixtures) or to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, 13 - 24th Avenue North, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 3H9.
