Obituary of Colin Star

February 15, 1956 - October 7, 2008

Colin Star, age 52 years, of Cranbrook, B.C., passed away at home on October 7, 2008 due to complications with diabetes.

Colin was born in Lethbridge, AB on February 15, 1956 to Alvin Richard Star and Muriel Lynn (Matkin) Star. He moved to Cranbrook in 1967 where he met, and was married for a time, to Elizabeth Diane Betts. They had two sons, Daryl and Tyler. Colin was employed by C.P.R. for 32 ½ years and until very recently was an active participant in golf, baseball and hockey.

Colin was predeceased by his father Alvin, and is survived by his mother Lynn, his 2 sons, Daryl and Tyler, 1 brother, Calvin (Barb) Star, 2 sisters, Carolynn (Stan) Tanner, and Cathy (Kip) Orth, plus numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A Vistitation will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 10:00 am until 10:45 am in the Cranbrook McPherson Family Room.

A Memorial service for Colin will be held at 11:00 am on October 11, 2008 in the McPherson Funeral Chapel in Cranbrook and followed by his Interment in Westlawn Cemetery.Memorial donations in honour of Colin can be made to: The Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 12013 Stn BRM B, Toronto, Ontario, M7Y 2L3.
