Obituary of Donna Kovalevich
Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
November 8, 1941 - September 30, 2008
On a beautiful sunny morning, surrounded by her loving family, Donna passed away peacefully at the age of 66 years.
Donna grew up in Canal Flats where she met and married Bill in 1963. After living in several locations throughout B.C., they settled in Cranbrook in 1972 to raise their family. Donna was admired for her many talents. She enjoyed sharing her amazing garden with family and friends. Rosen Lake is a place that holds many special memories of work, play and relaxation. Donna's passion for quilting filled her days with joy and her spectacular quilts are described as pieces of art. Spending time with, and caring for her grandchildren created special bonds that will continue forever. Tea parties, story times, puzzles and card games were just a few of the memorable activities they shared.
Donna is survived by her son Allen Kovalevich, daughter Julie (Pat) Van Hesteren, grandchildren Keith Kovalevich, Parker and Chloe Van Hesteren, sisters Helen Etherington and Diane (Mervin) Bjorgaard, her treasured "second daughter" Charlette Frizzell, aunts Alice Futa, Doris Edmunds (Chilliwack) and Dot Renwick, and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends (especially the "Crazy 8").
Donna was predeceased by her loving husband Bill in 1992, her mother Mary Edlund in 1956 and her father Gust Edlund in 1982.
