Obituary of Bernice Porter

1922 - 2008

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice Porter of Cranbrook, B.C. on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 85 years of age.

Bernice was born in Oslo, Norway on December 1st, 1922. Her family immigrated to Canada when she was 7 years old and settled in Alberta.

Bernice will be lovingly remembered by her brother Eli (Jean) Slorstad of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; her children: Shirley Still (Gordon), Ron Porter (Ruth), Lynne Dilling (Wilfred), Ken Porter (Renie); 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and her special friend and companion Fred Boroche of Cranbrook.

Bernice was predeceased by her parents John and Gurid Slorstad; brothers: Hulvar, Svere and recently Ivar Slorstad.

At Bernice's request, there will not be a service. A gathering of friends and family will be announced at a later date.
