1942 - 2008

Sally was born on December 30, 1942 in Cranbrook, British Columbia. She passed away peacefully at her home in Ta Ta Creek, surrounded by family and friends at 65 years of age on June 2, 2008.

Sally (Bubbles) was the daughter of Bill and Gratia Green. Together with her sister Theo (Pips) she grew up in Cranbrook surrounded by a medical community. During her younger years Sally enjoyed summers at Kootenay Lake and going to school "down east" at the Trafalgar school for girls. After her return from Trafalgar Sally blossomed into the eccentric person so many came to know and love. Sally worked different jobs, notably the F. W. Green Clinic named after her grandfather and was very proud of the four generations working there including her daughter who is presently employed there. Her last work was her company Mardis Logging she ran with her husband Werner. Sally had her three children prior to meeting Werner. Her family was always her most important priority. In recent years Sally has been involved in numerous community projects, most recently the columbarium in Wasa, and was an active member of the Wasa Lions Club. She enjoyed buying and renovating houses to the chagrin of Werner and was renowned for her strong personality, anal organizational skills and list making. Sally had control till the day she died as she had a "bucket list" that was completed prior to her passing. Sally was loved by many, as was shown by the outpouring of love during her illness.

The family wishes to thank the people who "babysat" so Sally could stay home with them during her illness, as well as everyone who brought food, comfort and love, they are too numerous to mention.

Thanks also to the staff and Doctors of the Green Clinic for their over and above care. And to the home care nurses, especially Mary Longston. A special thank you to Nita and Justine for being her strength and our saving grace.

Sally is survived by her husband: Werner Diefenbach; children: Deanne Keller (Juergen), Allen Diefenbach, Amy Coueffin (Tom); grandchildren: Anton Keller, Christopher Keller, Dustin Keller and Steven Coueffin; sister-in-law: Louise Eamon; cousins: Adrienne and John Pilgrim; nieces and nephews: Adrienne Gerein (Blair), Barb Hunter, Jim Hunter, Dawn Strand (Darren), Ryan Eamon and grand-niece Barbie Gerein; mother and father-in-law: Stan and Alice Leckie; brother-in-laws: Rob Leckie, Les Leckie; nieces and nephews: Sheila Pilgrim, Erica Pilgrim and Tim Pilgrim.
