What I remember best about Shurl was her friendly big smile. She made us feel so welcome whenever we arrived at Spain Lake and often invited Bill, Dorothy, and I to join her family for dinner where there were lots of laughs and lots of stories told. She was a good cook, was ready for any kind of work on the ranch, and loved her family. She taught the girls and Roy the government's school curriculum. I am very sorry to hear she has passed away and I send my sympathy to her family.
