Obituary of Isabella Peacock

Isabella Brown Peacock (Smith)We are saddened to announce the passing of Isabella Peacock on May 22, 2008 at the Pines Special Care Home in Kimberley, British Columbia at 95 years of age.

Isabella was born in Calgary, Alberta on May 9th, 1913. She graduated from Chicago School of Nursing in 1936 and worked for St. John's Ambulance Home Nursing and First Aid in Calgary. She was employed for CPR in Calgary for 22 years as a Chief Telephone Operator. In 1961 she moved to Kimberley and married Arthur Peacock.They owned Kimberley Taxi and Kimberley Transit. She also delivered surburban mail and distributed the Province Newspaper. Isabella was very proud of the volunteer work that she did for the Kimberley food bank. She always ensured her deliveries had treats for the children.

Isabella is survived by Cherie (Peacock) and Ken Pearson and their sons Jeffrey and Scott; Mike and Chloe-Ann Peacock and family; plus cousins in Scotland and Austrailia.

She was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1966.

At Isabella's request, there will not be a public funeral service. Memorial donations can be made to the Pines Special Care Home in her honour at: 386 2nd Avenue Kimberley, British Columbia V1A 2Z8.
