Obituary of Neil Saunders

1944 - 2009

It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend Neil Saunders on July 27, 2009 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Neil was born in North Vancouver on January 24, 1944 and he served in the Canadian Armed forces. Neil married the love of his life, Mary, in 1970 and had one daughter Stefanie (Rick) and one granddaughter Shayla. Neil worked for Cominco for 30 years retiring in 2003. Once retired he took up bowling and Texas hold'em and enjoyed both very much. Neil was very active with the Cranbrook Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 24 as a member for 22 years and served on the executive for the past 18 years.

A funeral service for Neil will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:30 am at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 24. His Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery.
