Hazel Chatson

Obituary of Hazel Chatson

It is with great sadness that the family of Hazel Chatson announce her passing on May 6, 2008 in Kimberley, British Columbia at 88 years of age.

Mom was born on August 15, 1919 in Cranbrook, British Columbia. We once read "a woman who creates and sustains a home and under whose hands children grow up, those children grow up to be pure and strong men and women, creatures only second to God." That was our mom. The love for her family and God was her life. Mom spent sixty years as an active member of the Anglican Church helping in any capacity she could. She was an avid reader. She loved the outdoors and taking long walks enjoying God's creations. Mom passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She will be sadly and lovingly missed by her family. We will remember her as a brave and loving soul and we were truly blessed to have her as our mother. She was the wind beneath our wings, and will be in our hearts forever.

Hazel leaves to mourn her daughter Lorraine (Cecil) Ross of Invermere, son Brock (Juanita) Chatson of Saskatoon, daughter Marie (Mike) McCauley of Marysville, daughter Janice (Mike) Duval of Marysville, six grandchildren, and 5 great - grandchildren.

Hazel was predeceased by her husband Ken of 44 years, and grandson Brent Chatson.

A private graveside service was held on Saturday, May 10, 2008.

In memory of Hazel, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of British Columbia: #300 - 828 West 8th Ave. Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 1E2
