Obituary of Ruth McWhirter

December 7, 1948 - March 19, 2008

"More Precious Than Rubies" Ruth was the beloved wife of Bob McWhirter and precious mother of Jason (Kate) McWhirter and Jon (Alissa) McWhirter. She was also the Awesome Grandmother of Brianna and Faith (Jason) and Abbey (Jon). Besides her husband, children and grandchildren, Ruth leaves to mourn her brother Arnold (Joanne) Collins, and children: Kim (Paul) Friesen and Hendrick (Christy) Verveer and their families; her sister-in-law Elsie Starchuck and her sons Tom and Rick; her brother-in-law Steve (Cindy) McWhirter and children: Collin (Suzie) McWhirter; Karen (Aaron) Palmer; Aaron (Kim) Harris; Victoria McWhirter; Christine (Brian) Hamm and all of their families; her sister-in-law Sharon (Chuck) Lecomte and children: Mike (Heather) McWhirter and family; Terry (Rachel) McWhirter; Theresa McWhirter.

Ruth was pre-deceased by her father Jim Collins, her mother Pearl Collins (Amlin), as well as her brother-in-law Jim McWhirter and sister-in-law Faye McWhirter.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew her.

Ruth's funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Cranbrook (328 14th Avenue South) at 1:30 pm with Pastor Kevin Ewaskow officiating.

Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery.
