Obituary of Florence Mattern

Florence Lillian (nee Griffith, Warner) Mattern

1937 - 2008

Born November 23, 1937, Seattle, WA. Florence passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 24, 2008 at the age of 70.

She is survived by her loving and devoted son Ken Warner of Kimberley, B.C., daughter Shannon (Grant) Parnall and their children Sarah and Connor of Kimberley, B.C., daughter Cindy (Bill) Boyd and their children Liam and Declan of Vancouver, B.C., as well as her twin sister Katherine Kellow, Kimberley, B.C., nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Florence in 1967 and Braham in 1998.

Florence grew up in Vancouver. She traveled to Germany to marry Maurice Warner and they travelled extensively through Europe and the Ukraine. From there they moved to Winnipeg and then settled in Vancouver. She was a gifted and creative person who enjoyed teaching her many skills to anyone willing to learn. She worked for many years in the Northwest Territories and it captured her heart. After retirement she spent a few years in Yahk before moving to Kimberley in 1992 where she filled her days working in her garden. She was a voracious reader and is sure to be missed by the Public Library. We will treasure our many happy memories and dearly miss Omma's Christmas baking.

No service by request. Interment to follow in the Spring.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kimberley Food Bank or the Boundary Museum, Grand Forks, B.C.
