Obituary of Marcia Denise Sykes

Dec. 20, 1954 - Jan. 18, 2008

Sadly we announce that Marcy passed away peacefully on January 18, 2008 at Joseph Creek Care Village.

Marcy grew up on the family ranch at Fort Steele and was educated in Cranbrook and graduated in 1973 from Mount Baker School and later took Business Management at the College. She was a Sam Steele Princess in 1972. Marcy began studying music at the age of seven and completed the grade 10 Conservatory of Music. She was an accomplished pianist and she loved to sing and dance.

She was predeceased by her father, Victor Pighin in Jan. 1985 and her mother, Laura Pighin in Oct. 2007.

Marcy is survived by her son Sean Sykes (Tanya). Nine siblings; 5 Brothers; Elliott (Phyllis) Pighin, Ernie (Toni) Pighin , Dan (Vivienne) Pighin , Terry (Icille) Pighin , John (Janie) Pighin and 4 Sisters; Sharon (Bill) Petruk, Barbara (Louis) Cloarec, Bernice (Mike) New, Jeannette (Greg) Pommier , also many nieces and nephews.

 

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 25, 2008 at 3:00pm at the McPherson's Funeral Chapel, Cranbrook, BC.In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
