We as a family (Hern) did not see Garfield very often, but I remember visting Great Uncle Bill, Great Aunt Doreen, Garfield, Karen etc. in Kimberley quite a few times when I was little. This was usually when we were on summer vacation or skiing in the Kimberley area. Garfield kept in touch with my parents (Bill and Carol Hern)over the years by email and every once in a while by phone. During one visit I remember Garfield taking my Dad, sister (Glynis), brother (Paul) and I to see one of the mines that he worked at. We worn hard hats and everything.
