We were very sorry to hear of Gar's passing. He was a great friend and companion for my Mom. Their love for travel enabled them to see many places near and far. We will all miss his smiling face and his many jokes that he use to send via the internet. God Bless You Gar!May you rest in peace. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of your family and friends at this time of sorrow. Love, Jan

our deepest sympathy and prayers to the Jones family. We sure enjoyed having Gar as a friend, we have many memories of him ,on our farm during harvest and touring with him around Cranbrook & Kimberley , he was great to visit with and be around, he was sure proud of the little rail-line in Kimberley. He was a excellent friend for my mother Janet, she will miss him dearly as we all will. Debra & Pat Duncan

We as a family (Hern) did not see Garfield very often, but I remember visting Great Uncle Bill, Great Aunt Doreen, Garfield, Karen etc. in Kimberley quite a few times when I was little. This was usually when we were on summer vacation or skiing in the Kimberley area. Garfield kept in touch with my parents (Bill and Carol Hern)over the years by email and every once in a while by phone. During one visit I remember Garfield taking my Dad, sister (Glynis), brother (Paul) and I to see one of the mines that he worked at. We worn hard hats and everything. It was really exciting for us to see an operating mine.Garfield was a very gentle person who will be missed by my family.Sincere condulences to Cynthia, Janice, Brian and their families and friends.Lori Hern Heikoop, Calgary
