Obituary of Elizabeth Mogielka

Betty was born Dec. 1, 1942 and passed away peacefully after a courageous struggle with cancer on Nov. 15, 2006.

Betty was born in Calgary and grew up in Sparwood where she married her loving husband and best friend Don in June of 1963. They moved to Cranbrook in 1969 where Betty resided until her death.

Survived by her loving husband of 43 years Don. Loving and cherished mother of Dale (Angela), Cathy (Jerry Gilchrist), Kayla (John Macaulay) and Robert (Leanne). Betty was adored by her grandchildren Michael, Dawn and Devon. She is also survived by her sister Marie (Henry) Beranek, brother Jim Schmaltz (Linda) and brother Andy Schmaltz (Dianne).

Predeceased by her parents Frank & Grace Schmaltz and her father & mother-in law Joe & Bea Mogielka.

Betty will be remembered for being a great mother who not only loved and cared for her own children but for many other children.

A memorial service will be held Monday Nov. 20, 2006 at 11:00AM at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook. Interment at Serenity Gardens will take place at a later date.
