Obituary of Eileen McBain

Born in Bawlf, Alberta on April 8, 1927, Eileen passed away July 19, 2006 at the age of 79.

Eileen is survived by sons; Dale (Eileen) and Wayne (Patricia), daughter Cindy, four grandchildren: Jason (Missy) Mike (Teresa) Carly (John) and Jaime (Trevor) and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Andy (Wilma) and Lowell (Arlene), sister Vivian Grayhurst and several nieces and nephews.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband Keith (Coug), her parents Inga and Lars and her brother Bob.Eileen, affectionately known to all as Granny, easily found her way into the hearts of children. They were her passion and reason for being. As the ravages of Alzheimer's took it's toll, the smile from a small child or gurgle from a newborn was sure to bring her back from the labyrinth that took her from us and return her, if only briefly, into the light of life.

She will be remembered by all as a gentle soul with a kind and open heart.

A Celebration of Eileen's life will take place at 2:00pm on Monday July 24, 2006 at McPherson Funeral Chapel in Kimberley, BC. In lieu of flowers donations in honour of Eileen may be made to the Kimberley Special Care Home (The Pines). 389 ~ 2nd Ave, Kimberley, BC V1A 2Z8.
