Obituary of Kenneth Rollie Thompson

Ken Thompson, of Cranbrook, B.C., formerly of Wardner, passed away suddenly on November 10, 2007 at age 73.
He was born in Cranbrook November 14th, 1933. He was predeceased by his parents Gudrun and Rollie Thompson as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ken is survived by his wife Dorothy and sons Greg of Grande Prairie and Brad of Cranbrook. Also surviving are brothers Glen (Peggy) and Mel (Anne) and sister Shirley (Bill) Gibbon as well as several sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
For many years, Ken enjoyed competing in both golfing and curling. Among his many proud moments was competing and twice winning the Boyd Cup with a team made up entirely of fathers and sons of the Thompson family. For many years Ken was a member of the Cranbrook and Mission Hills Golf Clubs as well as the Cranbrook Curling Club.
A memorial service for Ken will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday November 16th, 2007 at McPherson's Funeral Chapel in Cranbrook, B.C. No flowers by request. Donations in Ken's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #101 - 105 - 9th Ave. S Cranbrook, BC V1C 2M1.
