Obituary of Florence Pearl Bednorski

Florence Pearl Bednorski passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on November 6th at the age of 80. She passed peacefully with her loving family by her bedside. Born on July 9th 1927 in Nordagg, Alberta. She moved to Cranbrook in 1942 with her family where she later met Phil and they were married in 1949. She was a loving mother, wife and her greatest love in life was being a grandmother. She enjoyed camping and fishing with Phil at their favorite spots near the shores of White Swan Lake. During healthier years she loved to volunteer at The Cellar and was a member of the Maple Leaf Rebecca Lodge and the U.C.W. unit No 4. Flo is survived by her loving husband Phil of 58 years of marriage. She is also survived by two daughters Carol (Pud) Downey and Linda (Dan) McNeill both of Cranbrook. Granddaughters Charlene and Jolene Downey both of Calgary Alberta, Lori McNeill of Cranbrook and Darcie McNeill of Kelowna, and Michelle (Tony) Vendrasco of Langley, B.C. and their children Nigel and Ashley. She is also survived by one sister Ellen (Gene) MacDonald of Wardner, B.C. Sister-in-law Julie Kennedy of Cranbrook as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Flo also had a great love of the family pets and always had a treat ready when they came to visit. Family gatherings and special events were always a special time, as Flo always loved being with her family. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 14th at 2:00 pm at the McPherson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Lindquist officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Flo's name may be made to the charity of your choice.
