Obituary of Olga Elizabeth Wood

Olga passed away peacefully on October 30, 2007 in Cranbrook, B.C. Born November 23, 1919 in Cotako, B.C., Olga moved to Cranbrook from Hosmer in 1943 and worked at The Cranbrook Hotel. She was a lifetime member of the Rebecca Lodge and served the Anglican Church Altar Guild with dedication and spirit for 52 years. She loved gardening and especially enjoyed growing beautiful flowers. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. Olga is lovingly remembered by her son Gary (Lois), Edgewater, BC and their son Steven; son George, Kimberley, BC; daughter Diane (Eldon) Matchett, Cranbrook and their children, Darrell (Tracey), Kari (Steve) Pidskalny and Eldon. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Austin and Sydney, her sister, Lillian Cox of Nelson and many nieces and nephews. Olga was predeceased by her husband Tack September 3rd, 2004. A Celebration of Olga's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday November 5th, 2007 at Christ Church Anglican, Cranbrook, BC. Reverend Derrick Smith officiating. Donations in her memory may be directed to The Joseph Creek Extended Care Village, 1701 Willowbrook Drive, Cranbrook, BC V1C 0A5 - Senior's Fund.
