Born December 8, 1918 in MacDowell, Saskatchewan, Pete passed away on July 19, 2007 in Fernie, British Columbia at the age of 88. Pete moved to Cranbrook, British Columbia in 1968 and began his career at Fort Steele Heritage Town. He built many wagons and other items that are still used at Fort Steele today. Pete also enjoyed camping, fishing and old time music. He will be sadly missed and ever remembered by his daughter Bunny (Shorty) Mercereau, grandchildren Danny (Velma) Mercereau, Lorne (Noreen) Mercereau, Lynn (Bill) Cornell, Mickey (Frank) Martin, daughter Lila (Charlie) Pocha, grandchildren Marilyn (Tim) Marlton, Janet (George) Neufeld, Derle (Brenda) Pocha, great-grandchildren Lindsey, Susan, Justine, Curtis, Randi, Nathan, Jade, Ryan, Kyle, Katelyn, Tyrell and Amanda. Pete was predeceased by his wife Kathleen Wall (Dench). A Celebration of Pete's life will be held Monday July 23rd, 2007 at 1:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church in Fort Steele Heritage Town.
