Obituary of James Bannatyne

With great sadness, Jim's family announces his passing on March 14th, 2007 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, Cranbrook, British Columbia, at the age of 83.
Jim was born in Quill Lake, SK on December 16th, 1923. He bravely served his country during World War II and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 62 years. Jim lived in Kimberley since 1959 and worked at the post office there. He liked to spend his winters shuffling in Arizona and also enjoyed golfing, curling and watching the Blue Jays play ball.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Eileen Bannatyne, sons Edward (Patti), Jay (Sherree), Bob (Wendy) and daughter Barb (Dennis) Kasper. He is also survived by grandchildren Clayton, Brandi, Denny, Vicki, Jamie, Robert, Bryan, Sean, Christopher and Derek, great grandchildren Austin, Kolby and Kaid as well as brothers Garnet and Joey.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Robert and Annie, sisters Nova, Florence and Laura and brothers Herman, Kitch and Bob.
Services were held on Saturday March 17th, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the United Church in Cranbrook, British Columbia.
