Obituary of Leo Clarotto

Leo was born in Spilimbergo Fruili, Italy. He was the youngest of 12 children on his parent's farm.Leo met the love of his life, Clelia, at a young age. They were married in 1949, and had two sons, Pietro and Osvaldo.Leo worked on major construction sites in France and Italy and for the CPR in the Crowsnest Pass area. He brought Clelia, Peter and Osy to Canada in 1959.They moved from Crowsnest Pass to Cranbrook, British Columbia in 1966, where Leo worked in the local construction industry as a carpenter.
Leo became a fanatical golfer, bocci player, floor curler and participated in many provincial senior's games.
Leo was predeceased by Clelia in 1993 and his daughter-in-law, Nancy, in 2004.
He is survived by son Peter, grandchildren Ryan and Juliana, Osy and his wife Anne; two sisters in Italy, Carlina and Helena and many nieces and nephews in Italy and France.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Joseph Creek Village, who added some enjoyment to Leo's last months.
Prayers were held at McPherson's Funeral Chapel Sunday March 4, 2007 at 7:00 pm. Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Monday March 5, 2007 at 11:00 am.Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Cranbrook, British Columbia
