Obituary of Selma Miriam Tomm

Selma Miriam Tomm, left unexpectedly to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on October 5th, 2006 at Foothills Hospital, Calgary Alberta.
Selma was born June 11, 1928 in Michalin, Poland, and she immigrated to Minnitonas, Manitobia with her parents and grandmother in 1948. Selma married Otto Tomm from Banff, Alberta with abundant love, and faith she took on the responsibilites of nurturing Otto's four young children, later being blessed with three children of thier own. Selma completed her Accounting Diploma at Harvey's Secretorial School in Calgary in 1951 and received her Custom Broker Licence in 1968. She supported Otto in many business adventures in Banff, Calgary, Fort Smith, Cranbrook, Yahk, and Salmo. She was a very gentle and loving woman who loved her family deeply, as well as a gracious and generous hostess to many friends. She loved to fish at the family ranch near Yahk, B.C as well as garden, cook, play board games, crochet and read. She will be profoundly missed by her children, Bill (Elaine) Vernon, B.C, Ellen (Pat Dearden) Fort Steele, B.C, Beverly (Bob Ortega) Cranbrook, B.C her chosen children, Gordon (Elma) Kamloops, B.C. Ellenor (Witt Neumann) Victoria, B.C Karl (Cindy) Calgary, AB Marian (Giorgio Pestore) Victoria, B.C her sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Her dear lady friends, as well as her church family at Kootenay Valley Baptist Church will also miss her smiles and hugs.
She was predeceased by her parents Emil and Wanda Kuss, her husband Otto Tomm, her brother William Kuss, her daughter in law Winnie Tomm.
